Certification Programmes

CENTEXS is a technology training institute under Yayasan Sarawak providing industry-certified certification programmes, fully funded for all Sarawakians. The Digital and Green Energy Academy provides a variety of sought-after certification programmes relating to cloud technology, mobile application development, hardware, IoT and immersive technologies.

Certificate in Machine Learning on AWS

Intake - July/August

This programme offers comprehensive training in cloud-based deep learning solutions on the AWS platform. Trainees will gain expertise in running models on the cloud using Amazon EC2-based deep learning AMI and Apache MXNet. Trainees will also learn to utilize Amazon SageMaker for model deployment, along with AWS services like AWS Lambda and Amazon ECS. The programme focuses on designing intelligent systems on AWS, covering model building, training, tuning, and deployment with Amazon SageMaker, featuring a real-life use case involving customer retention analysis. MLOps on AWS introduces DevOps-style practices in building, training, and deploying Machine Learning (ML) models. The programme addresses challenges associated with collaboration between different teams through the use of tools, automation, processes, and teamwork. Trainees will develop an MLOps action plan for their organization.

Certificate in Cloud Practitioner & Architecting on AWS

Intake - October/November

This programme will build upon the trainee’s cloud computing knowledge to identify and implement services and features for creating robust and secure IT solutions on the AWS Cloud, then do architecting on the AWS platform. This comprehensive certification programme is designed for individuals seeking a solid foundation in Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud and the skills to architect resilient, secure, and highly available IT solutions on the AWS Cloud. Trainees will be equipped with the expertise to harness the full potential of AWS Cloud services and advance their career in the rapidly evolving cloud computing landscape.

Entry Requirements

Completed Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related fields, or equivalent.

  • Duration: 1.5 months

  • Programme delivery mode:

    • Online, full-time

      • Online classes from Monday to Friday, with 2 days of online exams in the final week

  • Fully-funded for Sarawakians only

FAQs

  • You may make an application on the form provided on this webpage at any time, and will be contacted further after general screening. The registration is always open however the seats are on a first come first serve basis.

  • Both programmes, including the AWS certificate examinations are all fully covered by the CENTEXS scholarship for all Sarawakians.

  • For this cohort, the programmes are currently not open for non-Sarawakians.

  • No. Students are required to provide a certificate of completion of study, or any form of document from the faculty/university stating that they have completed their bachelor’s degree, before joining these programmes.

  • No. The programmes are conducted online and full-time from Monday to Friday and require the participants’ full-time commitment for 1.5 months.

  • No. Registered participants are required to commit to the programme full-time prior to examination.

  • All registered students will receive the class schedule a week prior to the class commencement

  • The participants may be placed within the CENTEXS - AWS Innovation Centre located in CENTEXS Mukah, Sarawak upon programme completion and be involved in projects provided by AWS. The participants may also be linked to relevant industries for job placements within or outside of Sarawak, through CENTEXS.

  • AWS Educate is a self-learning, foundational online course that does not provide the learner with industry certification upon completion.
